Statement of Nondiscriminatory Practices

Lighthouse Christian Academy admits students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin, to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities made available to students of the school. It does not discriminate on basis of race, color, national, or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, financial assistance, athletics, or any other school-administered program.

Our Secondary Program

At Lighthouse, the focus of our secondary program is to prepare students for their collegiate careers. We operate on a modified University Model. This means that we have Monday/Wednesday classes and Tuesday/Thursday classes. High school students do not have class on Fridays. Students who fall below a "C" in any class may be required to attend tutorials on Fridays, and parents may request that students attend study hall or tutorials on any given Friday.

The secondary course of study includes five core courses: Bible, English, Math, Science, and History. In addition, students are required to take two years of Spanish and two more electives. Electives include: Accounting, Art, Civics, Computer Literacy, Consumer Math, Drawing Basics, Family Life Skills, Foundations for Living: Studies in the Christian World View, and Health.

Each year, students are also required to take an ACT and SAT preparation class. Students in the tenth grade take the PSAT and students in eleventh and twelfth grades take the SAT and the ACT.

Off-Campus Lunch

Our high school students are allowed one hour for lunch each day. They are allowed to take off-campus lunch with the following restrictions:

  • parents must consent to off-campus lunch,
  • students must stay in the city of Canton,
  • and students must be prompt in returning to school for afternoon classes.

Off-campus lunch is a privilege that may be revoked if a student is late back to class or behaves irresponsibly while off-campus.

Dual Credit College Hours
LCA is currently working with TVCC to be able to offer dual credit college hours. More information will be forthcoming.
